Project management and startup is the last link in EFI Group’s full service chain. Our teams focus on integrating changes within an existing manufacturing facility or constructing new operations. We go beyond design recommendations — we have the experience and capability to manage purchasing, sub-contractor selection, and implementation. Most often we fill out our client’s project team to lead final design, develop operating plans and controls functional descriptions, and prepare and implement commissioning and start-up plans.

Improved Dust Collection System for a
Food Additive Manufacturer
pdf

The EFI team managed selection and installation of a dust collector, new ductwork, and pick-up points for a food additive manufacturer. EFI selected a replacement collector specifically designed to handle fine, hydroscopic dust created during the production process. The installation occurred over a four-day weekend minimizing downtime. The system controls dust throughout a blending and packaging area, and collector reliability and dust control exceed client expectations.

The combination of engineering knowledge and effective project management resulted in successful relocation completed within the $2.5 million budget. The EFI team facilitated consensus among all stakeholders including organized labor.

Designed Custom Cooling System for
Large Electric Motor
pdf

EFI designed, specified, purchased, and supplied all materials for an outdoor, stand-alone, ventilation system to deliver ambient cooling to an 115,000 HP electric motor. The system was expected to run problem-free at an unmanned station. The EFI team managed the project, including contributions by outside vendors. The team was able to minimize freight charges and field installation costs, as well as achieving on-time delivery and performance exceeding client expectations. The client experienced full return on investment after one year.
